European soccer fans are joining a week of anti-discrimination/racism protests. At a game between Germany and Poland, fans will wear scarves and hold up signs protesting homophobia in sports:
In Germany gay fans of Hertha Berlin will be wearing anti homophobia scarves and holding a poster at their side’s game against Borussia Mönchengladbach this week.
Schalke Football Club will also be distributing anti homophobia posters in the city...
The idea behind the FARE Action Week is that a wide range of initiatives and activities address local problems within their club or community, while also joining groups across the continent to present a unified stand against racism and discrimination and promote a message of One Game, One Community.
While waiting for my boyfriend to get ready yesterday I passed the time by 'chilling' with his straight roommate Justin. What else would a red blooded American straight boy be watching than the US Open tennis championships. After learning that it was the last round of the men's tournament, I decided to check it out. Low and behold, two of the hottest sports stars were playing each other. Roger Federer and Andy Roddick (who used to date Mandy Moore). Roger won (his third straight US Open, something that's never been done before. I guess it's like a really big deal).
